A: Microderm product is effective on fine lines. It evens out skin texture through abrasion of the top layer of skin. The effect is a reduction or even total removal of fine lines.
A: Usually, no facials are recommended before a microdermabration treatment. Most facials include pore cleaning, extractions, cleansing or hydrating formulas. All these are either redundant or contraindicated before microdermabrasion. All you have to do before treatment is to let the specialist clean your skin with a professional cleanser, remove your contact lens (if you have any) and place a pair of goggles over your eyes to prevent eye injury from stray microdermabrasion crystals.
A: The Personal microdermabrasian kits from Derma E is effective for some people and isn't for others. There are many satisfied consumers who say that Derma E kit does make their face feel smother and look young. On the other hand, there are some unhappy people who say the kit is either too harsh, causing them skin irritation and breakouts, or not very effective in reducing superficial scars and fine wrinkles. The only way to find out if the kit is effective for you is to try to obtain a free sample and test the formula on your skin.
A: There are two different types of Microdem abrasion with similar results: micro crystal and diamond micro derm abrasion. The former is the classic form of professional in-office procedure, using a high pressure flow of aluminum oxide or sodium bicarbonate micro-crystals to abrade the top layer of the skin. Crystal-free microderm is the modern version of the procedure, using a disposable or reusable diamond tip wand with an irregular surface that gently abrades the skin. Both types of micro dermabration have the same results, but the diamond tip is becoming more and more popular because it can also be used on areas closer to the mouth and eyes without any risk of inhalation or ingestion. On the other hand, diamond tip microderm abrasion is also not as effective on irregular surface areas -- since there are no crystals to fit the exact irregularities of the skin.
A: By exfoliating the top layer of the skin, micro abrasion cream cleans deep into the pore and removes excess oil and dirt that clog pores - which causes blackheads. Most blackheads are removed while more stubborn blackheads are reduced.
A: According to thousands of online testimonials, professional microderma is effective on fine skin imperfections. But like with most non-surgical techniques, the effects depend on your medical condition, your body's ability to recover and on who does the procedure. Most people who have tried microabrasion say the treatment worked well in improving acne scars, age spots, fine lines, enlarged pores, red marks, stretch marks and dull skin More serious skin imperfections cannot be treated with this non-invasive technique, because it only removes the top layer of the skin, not being able to reach deeper layers of skin.
A: Rosacea is one of the main contraindications of microdermabrasion, because the exfoliation process worsens rosacea symptoms (redness, itchiness, flaking). Microdermabasion systems are not recommended either (even though they are milder).
A: Micro skin abrasion is not recommended if you've had a chemical peel (glycolic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, TCA, Jessner or any other kind of peel) in the last 14 days because the two exfoliating procedures combined are too aggressive and might affect your skin's ability to recover. This applies to self kit and doctor-performed treatment.
A: By removing the top layer of skin, micro derma abrasion pulverizes away the dead skin layer (the outermost layer) in order to even out skin texture and diminish superficial facial scars. Deeper facial scarring needs more invasive non-surgical techniques, like deep chemical peels or laser facial resurface.
A: Microdermibration works by sandblasting the outermost skin layer but cannot abrade deeper skin layers where tattooed skin cells are which is why it cannot remove tattoos. Tatoo removal needs laser or surgical procedures which are invasive enough to reach pigmented skin cells.
