The Derma E microdermabrasion kit is not a very popular one, even if it's one of the oldest personal microderm abrasion formulas available. Since neither I nor my friends have had the chance to try it, we have no personal input on the Derma E microabrasion scrub (we have tried Neutrogena, Youthful Essence and Dermanew).
However, I've included this review on my website because there are hundreds of people interested in how DermaE works. This Derma E micro abrasion review is based on the tens of consumer reviews and beauty articles I've read for the last 3 years.
The Derma E micro dermabrasion scrub jar can be bought on several cosmetic websites for prices between $20 and $35. It has the great advantage of using natural oils with nourishing and soothing properties (lime, lemon, orange, grape seed, almond, jojoba, and tangerine extracts).
What I don't like about the Derma E micro derm abrasion scrub is that it uses four types of micro crystals (aluminum oxide, silica, pumice, and pearl powder) to exfoliate the skin. In my opinion, this product may be too aggressive for an at-home microderm product (read my article on professional vs personal microdermabrasion).
Since I haven't tried the product myself, all I can give you are the instructions written on the back of the product. This is what they say about how to use the Derma E microderm scrub:
The recommended frequency for best results is twice a week.
According to tens of consumer reviews, the Derma E scrub makes the skin smoother and brighter in two weeks, but doesn't do much against acne scars or fine lines. I have to admit I was a bit surprised to find out that a scrub with four different types of exfoliating crystals isn't very effective on superficial skin imperfections, but then again, maybe some of the other ingredients make the results of the abrading process less visible.
Many upset customers complain that the cream is too harsh and feels like rubbing broken glass onto the skin. On the other hand, there are users who say they would definitely buy the product again because it is not very expensive, has a nice citrus smell, makes their pores smaller, and gives their face a nice healthy glow.
